Rorisang Sechele

Few artists move as comfortably between jazz stages, orchestral productions, and creative leadership as South African songwriter and creative director Rorisang Henrieta Sechele. Trained first through the Jacaranda Children's Choir and later through classical studies at Pro Arte Alphen Park, she went on to graduate cum laude in Jazz and Popular Music from the Tshwane University of Technology.
Her career gained national momentum in 2021 with her selection for the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Band under Dr Nduduzo Makhathini. Since then, she has collaborated with Lisette Spinnler, Nthabiseng Motsepe, Zenzi Makeba-Lee, Sun-El Musician, Simmy, Msaki, and Ami Faku.
Supported by the SAMRO and Norwegian Embassy-backed Digital Mobility Fund 5, she staged a sold-out Jazz in Jozi performance. Following appearances in Red Bull Symphonic 2024, she returned in 2025 as Vocal Music Director. Her debut project, "In Full Bloom–The Seed," has earned her notable industry recognition, playlist support, and multiple award nominations.
