Ajofé (FKA Octoba 7ven, Ajofe StreetMic), born Adukwu Samuel Atadoga, is a Nigerian-American singer-songwriter and producer known for his distinctive Afro-Groove sound. With a background shaped by his father's work at the Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Ajofé’s connection to music began with sound, not melody, sparking a lifelong curiosity about media and the technology behind it.
In secondary school, artists like 2shotz and Biglo influenced his early songwriting. Their conversational style resonated deeply with him, pushing him to start writing lyrics with classmates and creating beats on classroom lockers. By Senior Secondary 2, he recorded his first single, “Oh Boy Weytin?”, a 10-minute track with nine verses that marked the start of his journey into music.
Ajofé’s sound, which he calls Afro Groove, blends elements of Afrobeats and hip-hop with influences from 2Baba, Jhus, Bella Shmurda, Sky B, and others. His music is personal and raw, often carrying undertones of frustration and reflection—his form of emotional release. Though unconventional, his style grows on listeners, often revealing its uniqueness by the third or fourth track.
Married and a father, Ajofé balances music with a strong passion for Information Technology and building tools that improve lives. His music remains his truest form of self-expression and a medium for emotional release, shaped by life, culture, and the voices that first inspired him.
