Teswess, born Olawale Oyewo, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter whose music draws from Afrobeats, rap, and contemporary global influences. Raised in Nigeria, Teswess developed an early interest in music, shaping his sound through everyday experiences and cultural storytelling. His approach to songwriting reflects themes of youth, relationships, and personal reflection.
Teswess began releasing music in the early 2020s, introducing his style through singles such as “Lepa Shandy,” “E Pain Me,” “Juice & Henny,” and “Andrew Tate.” These early releases established his presence on digital streaming platforms and highlighted his ability to combine melodic delivery with rhythmic rap elements.
In November 2023, he released his debut EP, "Potatoes In My Dream," a key milestone in his career. The project featured tracks including “1st Love,” “Times on Times,” “Your Highness,” “Imagine a Ball,” “Forgive Me,” and “For Free,” presenting a cohesive exploration of love, ambition, and personal growth.
Following this, Teswess continued to expand his catalog with singles such as “Won’t Turn Back” and “Bill on Me,” showing growth in both sound and direction. His music began to incorporate broader influences, including elements inspired by country music, while maintaining an Afrobeats foundation.
