Journey
Dreventy, born Derrick Talemwa on October 31, 1997, in Uganda, is a trailblazing artist known for his 'Tale-pop'—a genre that artfully blends pop music with evocative storytelling. Dreventy's musical journey began with the 2018 release of his heartfelt debut single 'I Won’t Forget,' which laid the foundation for his burgeoning international career. His subsequent covers of popular songs, such as Ed Sheeran’s 'Perfect,' showcased his versatility and earned him a feature on Soundcity’s '11 Underground Talented Rising Stars to Hear.' In 2021, Dreventy expanded his musical horizons through collaboration with EDM producer Maerco. Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of artists including Giveon, Doja Cat, Zayn Malik, and Christina Perri, Dreventy crafts music that is both introspective and widely appealing. As he continues to gain momentum, Dreventy remains committed to pushing the boundaries of his 'Tale-pop' genre, engaging listeners with his unique blend of melody and narrative, and establishing himself as a distinctive voice in the modern music landscape.
