Born in Mamelodi, Pretoria, Prince Themba Monyai, known as DJ Mobla, is a South African DJ and producer active in electronic and dance music. Often called the “Bacardi Music King,” he is closely associated with the Pitori sound, which merges Bacardi rhythms with Amapiano elements.
He began his career in 2004, building experience through local performances across Pretoria and developing a style centered on energetic DJ sets and rhythm-focused production. Over time, he expanded to major platforms, including Rose Picnic, Bacardi Fest, and DinhoCafe, gaining wider recognition for his consistency on stage.
His early standout work includes “001 Revisit,” which helped define his approach to blending percussion-led structures with melodic layers. In 2024, he reached broader attention with “Xmas In July,” a collaboration with Gipa Entertainment, Enny Man Da Guitar, and Mellow & Sleazy, which gained strong traction online and in clubs.
In 2025, he released *My Roots*, a seven-track project focused on his Bacardi influences and long-term musical direction.
